Change furnace filter in attic.

Just had to replace my furnace coil and condenser this weekend. Turn off your furnace before checking or replacing the filter. I want to change my furnace filter. Went with a furnace with a pull out filter.

I can t find any filter on my furnace. Hi i have a heat pump in my attic since my ac is working but not blowing cold air but i could not find any filter there so i could clean to get cold air please help. The general rule is to change a furnace filter usually located behind a return air vent or in a slot on the furnace itself at least once every 90 days. This will prevent the furnace from turning on while you are checking or replacing the filter.

Excessive dust and debris in the furnace area will be pulled into the vents clogging the filters which can cause the furnace to malfunction. Btw in east texas all furnaces coils blowers go in the attic. If the furnace turns on while there is not filter in it then it can suck up potentially damaging loose debris. Up until this weekend we always had our filters in the intake vents in a hallway ceiling.

Set the furnace s thermostat to the off position. Keep the area around your attic furnace clean. Only the condenser is outside of course.
